If your vehicle has NOT been involved in an accident, there could be several reasons for the Airbag Light to turn on such as a:
- Defective airbag control module.
- Bad connection somewhere (airbags, seat belts, front impact sensors).
- Vehicle that was Flood or Water-Damaged.
- Vehicle that was Fire-Damaged.
- We recommend that you have your vehicle scanned by a body shop to see what code the module has.
- If they tell you that the airbag module is bad and not because of an accident then we do provide replacement SRS airbag control modules.
- We recommend that you use the part number that is on top of your module to locate the replacement module. (See the video for more information).
- When you purchase a used or new airbag control module it may need to be programmed/configured to your vehicle.

- Take your vehicle to a body shop to be scanned by them to see what code the module has.
- If they tell you: You have a bad seat belt, send us your seat belt for repair.
- If they tell you: You have a bad airbag computer, then use the part number that is on top of your module to locate and identify the correct replacement module. (See the red box in the video below: this is the Part Number).

Q: Can you reset my module if my vehicle has not been in an accident and airbags never deployed?
A: Yes, we can reset your airbag control module. But, we recommend that you first have it scanned to see what caused the light to come on in the first place. It could be a bad airbag, seat belt or sensor. When you get the module back and if those parts/components are still bad then it will cause the airbag light to come back on. If the module just failed on its own then we do have replacement parts in stock. We recommend that you locate the part number that is on top of your module to see if we have it in stock. Q: When purchasing another replacement module, do part numbers have to match?
A: Yes, Airbag control module part numbers must match. Most vehicle modules are VIN specific. So, first the part numbers need to match. Then, if the airbag light continues to stay on, you may need to have it additionally programmed to the VIN of your vehicle. If your vehicle was in an accident we recommend that you send your original module to be reset. This way when the original module is re-installed back in the same vehicle it will not need any additional programming to the VIN at the dealership. See our Airbag Module Reset Service

Q: Can you repair a damaged airbag control module (water or flood damage)?
A: No, we recommend a replacement module. See our inventory for Parts In Stock & Ready to Ship. However, for vehicles that have been in floods replacing parts may not solve the airbag light turning on as corrosion spreads quickly throughout electronic components and easily effects connections and overall ability to restore.

When calling to order a replacement airbag computer module, please be prepared to give our customer service tech representatives the original module part number. Once we have the original module part number, we will be able to verify if we have the module in stock.
What if I’ve already purchased a new or used airbag module replacement?
We advise our customers to compare the part numbers of their replacement airbag computer module to the vehicle’s original module; if the part numbers do not match, it is unlikely that the airbag module will work in the vehicle. Also, remember: the airbag module MUST BE FOR THE SAME VEHICLE IT CAME FROM.
If for instance, the module is for a 2008 Honda Accord, the replacement must be for 2008 Honda Accord. Once the replacement airbag module has been correctly installed in the vehicle the airbag light may still turn on. Again, for the reasons detailed above, you need to verify that you have followed the correct steps and that other parts were not from a flood damaged vehicle.
However, if you have done everything else successfully, the airbag module may need to be reprogrammed for the specific VIN of your car by that manufacturer’s dealership. This is why we always recommend that customers send in their original modules from their vehicles. Each module is coded for the VIN of the automobile it is in.
