KIA OPTIMA REPLACE THE MODULE AFTER A CRASH?

DOES THE MOBIS D5959-10000 AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT SEND AN OUTPUT SIGNAL TO THE AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELTS TO DEPLOY? OR IS IT JUST A DATA RECORDER?THE KIA OPTIMA SERVICE MANUAL STATES TO REPLACE THE MODULE AFTER A CRASH.IS THIS TRUE THAT IT HAS TO BE REPLACED?

Yes, the airbag control module sends signals to airbags to deploy and seat belts to lock when the vehicle is in a collision. It also records the history of the accident (crash data). The dealership will tell you to change this unit because crash history is recorded. Regular scan tools cannot clear the crash history. Myairbags.com can clear the history and the module is back to normal. Send your original air bag control module for reset instead of purchasing a new or used airbag control module. The process is fast and easy.
