| I am using a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer as a donor vehicle for a project I am working on. The trailblazer was in a slight accident that caused the side curtain airbags to deploy. I am wanting to not install new airbags here because I am modifying the doors and the airbags will no longer fit. I am wondering if my air bag control module can be reset to not include circuits for these side airbags and just have the circuits for the front driver and front passenger airbags active. | My car was in a minor accident, but the side curtain(passenger) airbag deployed and the seatbelt tensioners were triggered. I've struggled to find any information on the repair procedure, it seems to be a secrect. Where is the SRS module? Does it need to be reset? | Yes, although the airbag(s) was replaced, the airbag module still needs to be reset. but not the actual airbags. The bags themselves are plug and play. Only the module will need a reset. That module is storing vehicle accident-related codes and will cause your airbag light to stay on and the codes will not be able to be cleared. Once a reset is done on the airbag module, your light will be off, and your codes are now capable of being erased.
