RCM indicates problem via OBD2 . States passenger seat restraint can’t detect. I can’t reset it. Car was rebuilt at sometime from an accident. Only recently did the airbag light come on. Connections have been cleaned. Should I remove the RCM and send it? I’m helping an elderly neighbor.

If the light was off and just now came on without an accident then resetting the RCM will not help. When resetting the module, we clear crash data/crash history. You may need to just calibrate the passenger weight sensor or perhaps that weight sensor has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
