I asked 3 body shop mechanics to remove the seat belts on my GLC 300 Mercedes and all 3 said they don't want to do it if the car wasn't been on an accident because it will mess up the airbags. I saw the videos and I thought it could be something very simple and cool. But the mechanics don't feel comfortable doing it. One even told me that he will need a Mercedes computer to reconnect to the car after installing so I don't have seat belt lights blinking. I wish I could talk with someone about these concerns.
I feel a little lost with that confusing information and I can't be the only one.
Just need to disconnect the battery before you start removing the seat belts. Keep the battery disconnected until you get the seat belts back and reinstall. Also, you don't need a Mercedes scan tool to clear the codes. Just an Autel scanner will do to clear the seat belt codes if the car is powered on with missing seat belts
