I purchased a belt repair and ordered some airbags from chevy itself do I need to wait for the airbags to install the belts or am I fine just setting up the belts without the airnags present?

Yes, you can install the seat belts before the airbags. Please make sure you disconnect your car battery before working on anything regarding the safety system.
