I have an 08 Ford Explorer that rear ended another vehicle at maybe 10 mph. Only occupant was the driver. The steering wheel air bag deployed. I have replaced the airbag. The airbag dash light is still on but after researching your site I see the module needs reconfigured. On that model are seatbelt issues a possibility? The seat belt latches as it should and locks up when I yank fast on it. The dash seatbelt light is NOT on and goes out after a few seconds of starting. Im planning on sending the module to you to fix and need advice on sending the seatbelt as well. Thanks
Your airbag module is connected to your airbags, sensors and seatbelts so if any of those parts need to be repaired or replaced then that needs to happen before the airbag module is reset.
I have attached a video tutorial to check your seatbelts and see if they need to be repaired. If you wish to send us your parts, you can visit our website, MyAirbags.com to create your order
Thank you!
thanks for the photo.
From what I can physically see, the unit LOOKS good. I highly recommend testing the resistance of the buckle though.
Here is a link on how to test the resistance,
Also, I have pointed to where you would be testing it, in this photo.
My 08 Explorer has the seat belt pretension cylinders on the base of the buckle latch. Can I visually tell if its blown? I E the cable pulled down lower or something sticking out the end of the charge cylinder? Thanks
