I just bought a 2006 Jetta. It is a rebuilt vehicle. There is a code for both rear sensors in the computer. I have read that they have to match the number of the module???? How do I go about troubleshooting this?

The impact sensors almost never need to be replaced, unless you scan the system and you get codes to replace them. Also check the sensor wiring to make sure the wires are not flipped or backwards. Usually almost no one replaces them unless they look damaged or you get a code that they are bad. But regarding matching sensor numbers to module number, no that is not true, those numbers will never be the same.
The module however stores crash history so if your vehicle was in an accident with deployment the module would need to be reset with us and then it just plug and pay back into the car.
