Reset module for crash history

We can only reset the airbag module for crash history and repair/rebuild the seatbelts.“

So to be clear, if you reset the module and repair/rebuild the seatbelts, once we reinstall them, the airbag light on the car will go off and the seatbelt will work normally (tighten upon hitting breaks)?

Also, does this module reset affect anything else in the car?

Thank you

Good Afternoon,

Yes, that is correct. The light will go off after the reset + belt repair IF that is the only thing to do. If there is something else that may have been affected by the accident, once you reinstall the module the light will be on to let you know. At that point, you can scan the vehicle for diagnostic codes. Those codes will pinpoint what more needs replacing/repair. You can even give us a call with codes and we can troubleshoot as well.

If you did still have something else that needs servicing, you will not need the module reset again. Once you tackle whatever issue may still be lingering, the light will reset itself.

The module affects the entire airbag system as this module is the brain to the airbag system. If any impact sensors need replacing, calibration of a weight sensor, clockspring etc... it will trigger the light.

Hello, thank you for your response.

To note, our airbags have already deployed, and the car drives just fine. However we will be sending you the airbag module as well as the seatbelts, and we will be replacing the airbag at a later time. Our bigger concern right now is the seatbelt mechanism, for we need to make sure that they work (tighten when hitting brakes).

The airbag has already deployed and is currently in a “deflated” state on the steering wheel of the car. When we send the module for repair and reset, will this make the airbag light go off given our situation?

Thank you again for your help!

If you are replacing the airbag at a later time, the light will remain on even after our reset. Our reset does clear deployment history and will turn the light off IF nothing else needs servicing. If you will still have a airbag that needs replacement, that lighyt will remain on until everything has been done. Once you do replace the airbag, the light will automatically reset itself and go off.
