Query is in regards to the airbag module reset

Hi. My query is in regards to the airbag module reset. Do I have to replace all airbags, impact sensors before I have the module be reset? Also, can the car be used if the airbag module is not present?

Hello,
The airbag module is connected to your airbags, seat belts and sensors. The only way to know what you need to replace is if you have the airbag module scanned for codes while it is still in your vehicle. Once you know what needs to be repaired or replaced, then you send the airbag module to get reset. The vehicle is drivable without the airbag module, however, it is not recommended because your airbag system will not work in the event of an accident.

Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for the reply! I am looking at buying a salvage vehicle and rebuilding it. The airbags have deployed. I know I need to get the airbags replaced and module reset, but do I need new seat belt pretensioner in order for the system to work properly and have no airbag light on?

Also, if I purchase a used module can you guys clear the data and program/code it to the intended car?

Hello,
The codes within the airbag module would let you know if you need to get any part repaired or replaced. We do not program here, you would have to take it to the dealership for that.

Thank you!
