My Infiniti G37 was in an accident (front) but the airbags did not deploy. Repair shop recommended the replacement of front impact sensor and the control module. I plan to send the control module to you to be reset, but is there a way to test the impact sensor ($350) to verify that it needs to be replaced?
Dealership will always recommend that you change the front impact sensor. We deal with a lot used car dealerships and auto rebuilders and they almost never change these impact sensors unless the diagnoatic scan tool shows code for a bad impact sensor. If you had your SRS system scanned and you get a code for a bad impact sensor then yes change that sensor for sure.
