error code that was given was "B0020:13 - Side Airbag Left - Open"

as I was getting out of my car and closing the door, the seatbelt didn't retrack fully and the buckle was jammed into the seat side air bag when the door was shut. It dented the airbag cannister therefore it caused the airbag light to be on. We have replaced the airbag with another one from a junk yard and have verified that the airbag is functioning however, the light is still one. The repair shop believes that the module has to be reset/reprogrammed - would this service be the final fix that we need? The vehicle was not in any accident and the airbags did not go off. The error code that was given was "B0020:13 - Side Airbag Left - Open"

Since the airbag was replaced, the airbag module will need to be reset. We can't tell you if that would be your last step because we don't know what all is wrong with the vehicle. However, if that is your only code then resetting the module should clear your airbag light.

Thank you!
