2013 Chevy Malibu. Airbag light Coded B101D, B3902. no accident

I'll make this as concise as I can. 2013 Chevy Malibu. Airbag light came on after AAA changed out a dead battery. Coded B101D. Sought GM OEM part new by two GM dealers and an independent shop. None available in the US. Told by 2 dealers to get a used one and they would reprogram it. Found a used one, took it to GM dealer and it now codes B3902. They offered no other options. On original issue the airbag light stayed on, now with the replacement module the light flashes. Original module was 13589836, replacement still installed in the car is 13592409. Car runs fine otherwise. Solutions? Thanks,

Thanks for reaching out!
what we do here is only reset the module if the vehicle was in an accident with deployment and that's all.

We can not program replacements that is something that is done at the dealership.

If you have not programed the replacement then that maybe something that needs to be done.

Apparently GM has programmed the modules to prevent installing used modules in different cars. And a new OEM module is no longer available anywhere.

Sorry about that... I would check with your local dealer to verify if that is true or not.

Because to our understanding, they are vin-specific and you will need to make sure the module part number is now that fits with your vehicle vin and then the dealer can program.
