i am automotive technician . I recently bought a Toyota yaris 2012 with air bag light on.
With fault code 1698 side airbag sensor initialization incomplete .
History of the car : It seems it had into the accident from back and front but non the. Seems severe but not sure since i bought it when body seems perfect
i cansee slight sign .of the accident. But every thing is in place and air bag sensor are lookes fine. I replaced them with each other. Still poblem will be the same.
I took colum sensor out and no different in fault. But i took all others one by one. I have. An extra fault related to what i took out.
Also i check driver side witing Door pannel , column panel and under floor wiring.
But i couldn't find any problem with it.
What do you think is it possible that it be the madul?

Sounds like a faulty module (showing a code that should not be there). I would get a new module.
