2011 Honda ridgeline SRS module & seatbelt deployed

I had an accident, seatbelt deployed, then deactivated. Vehicle was being repaired by the shop, insurance required a new airbag control module. 2011 Honda ridgeline, the shop was unable to get a new module as it doesn’t appear to exist in North America. As a result, the truck was considered a total loss. I bought it as salvage, and just bought a used airbag control module from a similar year and model truck. Can I just insert that into my truck or do I need to have it reprogrammed first? Mine is a 2011 Ridgeline., this came from a 2010 ridgeline, which did not appear to have any air bag or seatbelt deployment. Thanks!

The vehicles are VIN-specific and the part numbers must match in order for the module to work in your vehicle. We do not carry these modules and cannot program them.
Was there anything wrong with the original module or did they just require you to purchase a new one? We are able to clear the original modules if there is no defect and all you need is the deployment history cleared.

Thank you!

After the crash it was stated that I needed a new one. However, that was the requirement of the insurance company. After it was deemed to be a total loss I bought the vehicle. Then I bought a used replacement unit, but came across your website which says that I cannot use a unit from a different vin number. Upon further thinking, I realized that the original unit is probably still in the vehicle, and I could probably pull it out to get it reprogrammed.

If you have the original you can send it and we can take a look at it. You can create your order on the website, Myairbags.com.
If the part comes in and it is in fact faulty, we will notify you and you will only pay for the shipping charges.

Thank you!
