I have a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
Airbag light came on out of nowhere.
Dealer scanned the codes and came up with the codes in the picture attached.
I had the harnesses unplugged shortly before having the codes scanned. I was trying to see if the airbag light was related to a poor connection or a wiring issue.
Attached is also a picture of the ODS module.
I just want to be sure these codes can be fixed with your service?
Thanks for reaching out. There are several reasons why the airbag light might come on, and it's essential to address these issues to ensure your safety. Some common causes include:
Faulty Airbag Sensors: These detect collisions and trigger airbag deployment. If they are malfunctioning, the airbag light can illuminate.
Seat Belt Issues: Problems with the seat belt pre-tensioners, buckles, or wiring can cause the airbag light to come on.
Airbag Module Problems: The airbag control module manages the airbag system and any faults in this module can trigger the airbag light.
Wiring or Connection Issues: Damage, corrosion, or disconnection in the airbag system's wiring network can result in the airbag light turning on.
Given that you mentioned having the harnesses unplugged, it’s possible that there might be a wiring or connection issue causing the light to activate.
It's best to have a professional service inspect these potential issues to pinpoint the exact cause and ensure everything is correctly fixed. Please note we only service airbag modules that have been in an accident.
Hope this helps!
