I purchased a Nissan 350z 2008 that has been in an accident. The airbag light is on. If I send you the module for reset how would I know if the airbags were deployed and if it would be safe to drive the car. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
If the vehicle was involved in an accident, our SRS Module Reset service is right for you. Even if the airbags were not deployed, that module is storing crash / accident data in it. If your vehicle was in an accident, a collision, or you hit a curb or a pothole and the airbag light turned on, then the airbag control module will need to be reset. When you send your airbag module to MyAirbags, we reset all fault codes and check to ensure that there are no other problems with the module. MyAirbags can clear crash data and crash codes and airbag control can be used again.
Unfortunately, We wont be able to tell you if the in past the airbags deployed or not. Once you receive your SRS Module back from us, if you still have an airbag light on, scan the vehicle and check the DTC codes. These codes will tell you what was not service and needs to be. Once it is taken care of, that light will go out.
I hope this information helped. Please let me know if there is anything else I could assist you with.
Have a great day!
I think that your first step should be to get the module reset. After that, you can see if you're getting any codes. If there are no airbags in the vehicle or have any issues, you will receive codes for them.
Yes, here is the link to direct you to it:
SRS Airbag Control Module Location Lookup (myairbags.com)
Hope this helps! Best of luck to you!
For your vehicle, the Nissan 350Z 2008 is $64.99 plus shipping.
It is just the one module that needs resetting. Yours is stating that it is located under the center console, correct.
Any time!
So would it be prudent to have a Nissan dealership mechanic check that there even are airbags in the vehicle. I know nothing about airbags and don`t trust the person who sold us the car (private owner). Again just making sure everything about the car is safe. Thanking you for your reply
Thanks for the reply. That sounds like a good plan. I can get instructions as far as module location and removal for my specific vehicle on your website, correct?
I see your reset charges about $75.00. Plus shipping. Correct?
One more question for you. Do you know if on a 2008 Nissan 350z that there is only 1 module and it is under the center console. I see some cars have multiple sensors.
Thanks again.
