I have a 2008 Mercedes ML350 178k miles with a hard fault code 9600 "The control unit is defective" in the SRS ECU. The fault occurred while driving, the car has never been in an accident and the code cannot be cleared with a MB dealership scan tool, the suggested remedy is a new ECU. I was able to get the code from "current" to stored by disconnecting the battery, but still won't clear. Is this something you can repair? Thank you!
Your module is defective, therefore needs to be replaced. We can only clear out crash history in the event of an accident and do not stock these parts.
Thank you!
