My sons 2007 honda civic was in a minor accident. He rear ended someone. The airbags didn’t deploy but his seatbelt did. We replaced the seat belt with one from the junk yard and it is working well. The SRS light (red light) on the dash is on. We tried to reset the codes by jumping the two pins at the MES connector. This had no affect and the SRS light on the dash remains on. We then jumped pin 9 and 4 on the datalink connector. By reading the flashing lights we were able to pull the codes and got 5-2 and 4-1.
What are our next steps? It looks like the SRS module needs to have some hard codes removed. Do I need to send this unit to you? Also……I checked both crash sensors on the front bumper. Both appear to be not damaged. Are they one time use sensors? Do they need to be replaced if not damaged? Also…….I ran the car without the SRS module in the car. Does that mean that I now have a BCM code that will have to be reset?
Can you advise my next steps? Possibly a call would be helpful?
You can send your module in to us by placing an order online at myairbags.com and sorting the results by year make and model.
