I have a 1999 F250 super duty 2wd regular cab pickup truck. The airbag light is on the truck has never been in an accident, I took it to Ford to have it fixed. They said the front crash sensor was bad. I bought a used one well they replaced it but it won’t synch with my truck. Can you repair it?
The module has to be programmed to your VIN after its replaced, the dealership will have to take care of that. We are not able to program the airbag modules.
Thank you!
They said the original was bad and they tried to reprogram the one that I bought but it wouldn’t. That’s why I wanted to know if you could repair the original one. Ford said that they were all kinds of different sensors that they are vehicle specific. I don’t know myself just going on what the dealership told me. I’m waiting on them to recover the original one they mistakenly gave it to another customer. If they can’t get it back how can I get my airbag system to work again without knowing what model of sensor to look for. Thanks for your help
The dealership can easily give you your part numbers if you give them your VIN. If it is only a sensor that needs to be replaced and your vehicle was in an accident then you should just be able to replace the sensor once you get the part number from your dealer and then we can reset the module. However, you will have to get your original module scanned to see exactly what is wrong with it. If it's faulty then our service won't work for you and if it's just crash history that needs to be cleared then you can definitely send it in.
Thank you!
Never in an accident just corrosion in the left front sensor.
You will have to ask your dealer. We don't have any part numbers and do not service sensors.
Thank you.
