10 Nissan Xterra module is not working

Our 2010 Nissan Xterra was not in an accident. I did clear out a bunch of paper towel remnants from the seat belt holes. I have tried the reset involving the key. But it's still blinking.

Auto repair shop said module is not working and wants $1900.

Could the junk in the seatbelt hole cause a code to go on the airbag module? Would your service be able to test module? Reset it if there is some code on it?

Thank you

We can only clear crash history and cannot test or repair these modules. The seatbelt is not what caused the airbag module to go bad but the module is fragile and can go bad over time. You can always take your module to a local mechanic and have them scan the module for codes. Those codes will let you know if the module has an internal failure. If you don't see any codes then it could mean it has lost communication. Either way, it will need to be replaced.

Thank you!
