I have a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2 Door 5.3L 2WD
It has recently had SRS Air Bag dash warning light on continuous.
Shop attempted to scan but was unable to communicate with the module.
Does this suggest module needs to be replaced or reset? Vehicle has not flooded or crashed.
The best place to start is powers and grounds. Have there been any modifications that may have caused a wire to run through? Make sure the fuse to the module is good. If needed, checking the powers and grounds, as well as the communication wire from the module, is good by removing the connector and checking wire integrity. Check network voltages are correct on the rest of the network as well. If everything else is good, then suspect the module. Sometimes, if the simple things check out, it can be just as easy to have the module sent for testing/re-setting. But you may end up doing all the in-vehicle tests anyways if it passes in the testing facility. You may also have codes in other systems that will indicate a better solution, or point towards a better answer.
