My 2002 Accord EX 2.3l SRS light was on. I was instructed to swap the SRS control module for one in a salvage yard from a vehicle that had not been in an accident. I did. The light did not go out after the replacement. My vehicle has not been in any collision where any of the airbags were deployed. My SRS code is 12-1.
What can be done to resolve this Control Module. Realizing this unit is programmed with the VIN to the particular vehicle, it was foolish for me to swap it with a salvaged unit of unknown orgins.
Thank you for your time.
So your vehicle vin can only take specific part numbers when it comes to the airbag module.
If you call the dealership and give them your VIN they have a list of part numbers they can give you that go with your VIN number.
If the one you already bought is one of the part numbers then you will just need to get it programmed to your vehicle and that is something that the dealership will do.
Of course anytime!
Thank you for reaching out!
Thank you very much for the Clear information. So many times, vendors tend to be vauge about issues, requiring expensive diagnostics fees before explaining what is really involved and/or why.
Again, Thank you very kindly.
